At today's church meeting it was agreed that we will work towards opening up the church building from Sunday 30 May 2021. 'Hybrid' Zoom services will commence from that date. Other church activities will open up after appropriate risk assessments have been completed and as corona-virus guidelines allow.

The second lock-down thwarted our plans to re-open. Although the current rules do permit gathering in church, the CLT have decide not to press ahead with plans to re-open for the time being.

Friday 18 September 2020

The CLT intends to gradually open up the church for Sunday morning services. Initially, a small Worship Team and technical staff will join the preacher so that sung worship will sound better for those joining via Zoom in their homes. (Singing is not permitted by the congregation.) Over time, additional worshippers will be invited to join the congregation.

From 4 July the 2m distancing guidance will change in England.

Yesterday, the Prime Minister announced: "...I am delighted that places of worship will be able to reopen for prayer and services – including weddings with a maximum of 30 people, all subject to social distancing."

The CLT will discuss at their next meeting on Tuesday 7 July what the implications and opportunities are for Acomb Baptist Church as a result of this announcement and any guidance published as a consequence.

Wednesday 18 March 2020

Following advice from the UK Government and the Baptist Denomination, Acomb Baptist Church has made the sad decision to suspend all gatherings until further notice.



10am to 11.30am     Alphabet Coffee Bar

A warm welcome and free refreshments await you. Prayer and help are available for those who need support.



10.30am                   Foxwood Home Group

1pm to 2.30pm        ABC Club (School Term Times)

ABC Toddler Group is a drop-in toddler session open to all parents and carers with children under five years of age. During the session there is lots of free play, usually a craft activity, a drink and fruit snack, and singing time at the end. The cost is 50p per family.

1.30pm to 3.30pm     Busy Fingers

This club meets in the hall of ABC usually** on the second and fourth Friday afternoons of the month for fellowship, friendship and to share or learn new hobbies and crafts. Everyone is welcome. There is no need to book just come along and bring your craft, your questions or suggestions with you.

6pm to 7.15pm           Light Factory 

(School Term Times, excl first and last Friday of term)

For children 7 - 11 years old. A time of fun, learning and play, in a safe and supervised place. Come along and try it! you will be welcome

7.15pm to 8.30pm      Reps Max 

(School Term Times, excl first and last Friday of term)

For young people 12 years to adult. They meet to do their 'own thing' sometimes at church, or outings are arranged. All young people are welcome to come.



10.30am                      Sunday Morning Worship

Holy Communion is held usually on the third Sunday in the month.
